Files from your chats

Ask for a file the way you'd ask a colleague, and Gelim makes it: an Excel sheet, a Word report, slides, a PDF, a web page or a script. The file appears as a card in the chat, ready to open, save or share.

What you need

  • A Gelim Account with credit (Credit and usage).
  • Gelim for Mac 2.1.8 or later, gelim.ai/app, or Gelim for iPhone 2.0.

1. Ask for the file

Start a chat and say what you want and in which format, for example:

  • "Make an Excel sheet of 10 sample invoices with totals."
  • "Write a one-page project report as a Word file."
  • "Make an HTML page with a pricing table."

While Gelim works you'll see Making invoices.xlsx…. Stop ends it, as it does any answer.

2. Open the card

Each file gets its own card with its name, type and size.

WhereWhat the card offers
MacOpen or Quick Look, Save…, Copy, and Open in canvas for Markdown

What Gelim can make

KindFiles
DocumentsMarkdown, plain text, Word (.docx), PDF
SpreadsheetsExcel (.xlsx), CSV
SlidesPowerPoint (.pptx)
Web pagesHTML, shown in a closed preview with no internet access
PicturesSVG, shown as a picture
Code and dataPython, shell and PowerShell scripts, and JSON, shown as text with Copy and Save; Gelim never runs them

A Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF file can be up to 20 MB, and any other file up to 50 MB. A large download picks up where it stopped.

Where your files are kept

Files stay with the chat in your Gelim Account, encrypted and backed up every night. When you delete a chat for good, its files are deleted too, and leave our backups within about 9 days. A card then says This file is no longer available.
