Offline recording and recovery in Chrome
Gelim for Chrome saves every recording on your computer before it uploads anything. If the connection drops, nothing is lost: it uploads later, or you choose when.
Record offline
1. Start an offline recording
Click the Gelim icon and choose Record offline. Nothing is sent while you record.
2. Finish
Choose Finish. The recording shows Not transcribed.
3. Queue it
Choose Queue for transcription now, or later from Offline recordings in the popup. Credit is used only when you queue it.
Manage offline recordings
Open Offline recordings (N) in the popup. Each one shows its title, date, length and size, and its state: Queued, Uploading, Transcribing, Transcribed or Needs attention. Play listens to it; Delete removes it.
Retry upload
If an upload didn't finish — Chrome closed, the network dropped — the popup offers Retry upload (Retry all for several), and the badge on the icon counts what waits. Choose it: Gelim sends only the missing parts. What couldn't be sent stays on this computer until you retry.
Limits and notes
- Recordings are stored in Chrome's own storage. Clearing Chrome's data for the extension deletes them.
- Up to five recordings upload at once, or three alongside a live meeting.
Next steps
- Gelim for Chrome: install, sign in and record.
- Troubleshooting: uploads that wait.
