Clipboard in the keyboard
The keyboard's Clipboard tab keeps what you copy as chips. Tap one to put it at the cursor. With the cloud clipboard on, text you copy on your Mac or in the browser shows up here too.
What you need
- The Gelim keyboard with Allow Full Access on.
- For your other devices' clips: Cloud clipboard turned on in Gelim.
1. Copy something
Copy text in any app as usual. While the Gelim keyboard is open, it saves what you copy, as long as Save copied text automatically is on in Settings → Clipboard (it is by default).
2. Open the Clipboard tab
Tap Clipboard in the keyboard's bar. Your clips appear newest first, each once.
3. Tap a chip
The text goes in at the cursor.
Bring in your other devices
In Gelim, go to Settings → Clipboard and turn on Cloud clipboard. Copies from your Mac, other iPhones and the browser then appear in the keyboard with a small sign for where they came from: a laptop for a Mac, a phone for an iPhone, a globe for the web.
What's kept where
| This iPhone | All devices (Cloud clipboard on) | |
|---|---|---|
| How many | the last 20 | the newest 100 MB |
| What | text | text and images (the keyboard shows text only) |
| Never kept or sent | passwords and one-time codes | passwords, one-time codes and files |
Manage it all in Settings → Clipboard: rename This iPhone, add text by hand, Clear this iPhone's items, or Clear all devices…, which removes them everywhere at once.
