Window switcher
Gelim's window switcher shows every window, not just every app, and puts the one you used last first, so one press takes you back.
What you need
- Accessibility allowed for Gelim.
- Screen Recording too, if you want window previews.
1. Turn it on
Open Settings → Switcher & snippets and turn on Window switcher. It's off until you do.
2. Hold the key
Hold ⌘ and press Tab. Windows appear as tiles, up to five across, each with a preview, its title and its app.
3. Choose a window
Press Tab again to move on, ⇧Tab to move back, or use the arrow keys. Let go of ⌘ to switch. esc cancels.
Options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Key | The key to hold; ⌘Tab by default, which replaces macOS's app switcher while on. Preview tries it |
| Windows of every app | Lists every app's windows, not just the front app's |
| Windows on other Spaces | Includes windows on your other desktops |
| Minimized windows | Includes minimized windows |
| Hidden apps | Includes windows of hidden apps |
| Show on | The active window's screen, the screen with the pointer, or the main screen |
| Window previews | Pictures of each window. Without Screen Recording, you see the app's icon and the title |
| App exceptions | Hide an app's windows, or Ignore key in apps such as remote desktops |
