Gelim for Mac

Gelim for Mac puts Chat, Canvas and Recordings in one window, with the launcher one key away in every app. It's the fullest Gelim: folders for canvases, meeting audio from any app, and answers you can insert where you're typing.

What you need

  • A Mac with macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, with Apple silicon or Intel. On an Intel Mac, everything works except canvases over a folder.
  • A Gelim Account (create one).

1. Install Gelim for Mac

Download it from gelim.ai/mac, open the disk image, and drag Gelim to Applications. Open it from Applications.

2. Sign in

Choose Sign in with your Gelim Account, or Create a Gelim Account. Sign-in opens in your browser and comes back to Gelim by itself. Nothing on this Mac is sent before you sign in.

3. Allow what Gelim needs

The first time Gelim opens, Allow Gelim lists what it needs, in two steps: To work and To record. You can also allow each one later, when you first insert an answer, use your selection or record. See Permissions for each one and why.

What you'll see

The window opens on a new chat, What's on your mind? The sidebar on the left holds everything you make.

Work in several windows

Press ⌥⌘N for a new window, ⌘-click a row to open it in its own window, or drag a row out onto the desktop. ⌘` moves between windows, and ⌥⌘S shows or hides the sidebar. Your windows come back where they were the next time you open Gelim.

The menu bar

The Gelim mark in the menu bar offers Open Gelim, New chat, Launcher, Activity, Record, Settings… and Check for Updates…. Its centre turns red while this Mac records, and it shows how many jobs are running. Turn it off in Settings → General → Show the mark in the menu bar.

Quitting

⌘Q quits at once unless something would stop. While recording, Gelim asks: Keep recording or Finish and quit. Answers and research keep running on your account either way, and uploads continue the next time you open Gelim.
