Models

Gelim uses models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google through your Gelim Account. Leave it on Automatic and Gelim picks a good one for each job, or choose one yourself.

Automatic

Automatic picks the first model on Gelim's list that you can use and that can do the job: read images, search the web, or fit a long transcript. Results show which one answered, such as Automatic → ‹model›.

If a model you chose yourself can't be used any more, Gelim says so and doesn't switch to another behind your back: it shows Unavailable, and you pick again.

1. Choose a model for one chat

Click the model in the composer, or press ⌘/, in the chat window or the launcher's Chat tab. Type to Search models, pick one, or turn on Automatic. Effort sits under the list when the model has one; ⇧⌘/ moves it on (Low, Medium, High) without opening the list. With an image attached, only models that read images are listed. New marks a model added in the last 14 days, and Add models opens Settings → Models.

2. Set your defaults

Open Settings → Models (or Settings → Chat → Default model). Choose what Automatic uses for each kind of work:

KindUsed for
Chat and canvasChats, canvases, Chat about this
Quick actions / Keyboard actionsThe launcher's and the keyboard's actions
ImagesPictures in canvases

Each action can also have its own model, in its editor.

3. Hide models you don't want

In Settings → Models, switch off Show in the picker for any model (on the iPhone, its switch under Available on your account). It leaves the picker in every Gelim app, on every device.

On the Mac and the web, Settings → Models lists every chat model with its speed (on the web, with its price per million tokens too). Search or sort the list, and switch Show in the picker on or off. A model you search for in the picker that isn't in your list has Add: it joins your picker on every device. Add models at the foot of the picker opens this list.

Compare models in your Gelim Account

Open account.gelim.ai → Models to see every model with its provider, kind, price per million tokens in and out, and measured speed. Filter by Usable, kind, provider or speed. In your apps is the same visible-or-hidden switch.
