Quick actions
Select text in any app, open the launcher, and run an action on it. The answer shows in the launcher first; then you insert it, replace your selection, or copy it.
What you need
- Gelim for Mac, signed in, with credit in your Gelim Account.
- Accessibility allowed for Gelim, to read your selection and put the result back.
1. Select something
Select text in any app. For image actions, copy an image or take a screenshot to the clipboard first. Gelim uses whichever is newer: your selection or your last copy.
2. Open the Quick tab
Press ⌘Space, then ⌘1 if another tab is showing. The chip at the top reads Selected N chars with the app's name, Image attached, or No selection.
3. Choose an action
Use ↑ and ↓ and press ⏎, or type the action's two-letter code: it runs at once, on your selection, copied text or captured area, without ⏎. Two letters that aren't a code search instead, and the list filters as you go on typing; if nothing matches, ⏎ asks Gelim your typed text with Ask anything.
4. Use the result
The answer appears as it's written. Then:
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| ⌘⏎ | Insert at your cursor in the app you came from |
| ⌘⇧⏎ | Replace your selection (shown when you selected text) |
| ⌘C | Copy the selected words, or the whole answer |
| ⌘R | Retry, or Continue a reply that was cut off |
| ⌘[ | Back to the list |
| ⌘P | Pin the answer so the launcher stays open |
To try another model, choose it in the Retry model menu and press ⌘R. Your default models stay as they are.

Make your own
Open Settings → Actions and choose New action. Answer Where does it run? with Mac, give it a name, two letters, and an instruction with {{input}} where your selection goes (up to 16,000 characters). Choose a model or leave Automatic. You can also give it a shortcut that works while the launcher is open, on every Mac of yours. Saving one of Gelim's actions makes your own copy; Reset to the original brings Gelim's back.
Limits and notes
- Insert and Replace paste into the other app, then restore your clipboard. Without Accessibility, the answer stays on your clipboard instead.
- You can have up to 100 of your own Mac actions.
- Each run is charged to your Gelim Account.
Next steps
- Actions: actions on every device and in meetings.
- Chat in the launcher: when one action isn't enough.
- Models: what Automatic chooses.
