Text snippets
Save text you type often — an address, a sign-off, a reply — under a short keyword. Type the keyword in any app and Gelim swaps it for the text at once, without opening anything.
What you need
- Gelim for Mac, signed in.
- Accessibility allowed for Gelim.
1. Open the snippets settings
Open Settings → Switcher & snippets. Text snippets is on by default.
2. Add a snippet
Choose Add snippet. Enter a Keyword, such as @@, and the Text it stands for. Choose Save.
3. Type the keyword
In any app, type the keyword. It's replaced by your text as soon as you finish typing it; no space needed.
Good to know
- Keywords are 2 to 64 characters, with no spaces, and are case-sensitive. Text can be up to 4,000 characters.
- If two keywords match, the longest wins.
- Snippets never expand in password fields, or while you're typing in Gelim itself.
- Your clipboard isn't touched.
- Turn one snippet off with Expand this snippet; it shows Paused.
- Snippets stay on this Mac. They aren't sent to your account or your other devices.
Next steps
